Situation

The company supplies equipment and technical services to the national oil sector across six business lines. Its customers, principals and future partners sit in Europe, the Gulf and North America. Its sales cycle runs one to two years. In April 2022 it engaged Project 54 to run its digital marketing and communication, and the engagement has run continuously since.

The problem

Two decades of technical work had little visible proof online. The company had no marketing department, no CRM and no trustworthy measurement, and its analytics reported leads that turned out to be false. It needed qualified business leads, not job enquiries, and credibility with oil and gas decision makers.

It had to do this organically, in Arabic and English, in a politically sensitive market, with every public asset approved personally by the chief executive. Its own knowledge base also contained AI generated fiction: invented partnerships, products and case studies.

Role

Michael leads the engagement as Chief AI Officer of Project 54. He set the strategy and the targets, designed the content, analysis and reporting systems, and wrote the operating method the delivery team works to. He directs a distributed team across Europe, North Africa and Asia, working two different weeks and two time zones, and owns quality, the client approval flow and reporting. The results are a team result.

What was built

Strategy: a two year digital marketing strategy for 2026 to 2028 across all six business lines, with three costed options, three forecast scenarios and a 90 day launch plan.

AI governance: an operating standard that binds AI output to written procedures and measurement standards, a two stage prompt system with hallucination controls and a four tier evidence labelling scheme, custom assistants on the client knowledge base, and training for the team. AI fabricated content in the client knowledge base was found and quarantined before it reached a public channel.

Content engine: a 15 document system covering all six business lines. 129 posts, 516 publication ready copy blocks, 12 long form articles and 60 infographic briefs, about 73,100 words, in Arabic and English, with every claim traced to a named source. AI researches and drafts; the team edits against the method; the client approves.

Analysis engine: an analytics event architecture, a 166 row campaign tracking register, a lead qualification model, and a monthly test of the company’s visibility in AI search answers.

Automation and operations: a daily automated, read only digest of the client’s inbound email for the team, an 18 section procedure suite, an approval matrix, escalation and crisis runbooks, and a codified rule that keeps evergreen content publishing when approval is delayed.

Outcome

In the 30 days to 3 October 2026 the page gained 1,276 followers, about 200 a week, and 169,916 impressions, four times the level at the end of June 2026. It has the largest LinkedIn audience among its tracked national peers, 45 per cent more than the next company, and about 79 per cent of the posts, 63 per cent of the reactions and 61 per cent of the new followers across that peer set. Website enquiry and contact actions reached 47 in a week, up 51.6 per cent, 23 of them from organic search. Average Google position improved from 11.0 to 8.5 across September 2026. Arabic posts reach about 1.8 times the audience of identical English posts.

What it shows

A small team directed through a system, not headcount, can build an international audience for an industrial company without paid media. The discipline is the one that runs a film production: a plan, a method, a fixed rhythm and an audience that responds.
